H/L Client....propblems

Hey Guys,
 A friend of mine is having problems with the the newest H/L client. He installs it,but it seems it's not complete....??  It's difficult to explain, but it won't work. He's running XP. If I could only find the original H/L client I used a few years ago, I know it would work. Any Ideas??

mine works fine too, but have to ask how running an older version would help when it will prompt you to dl and install the newest version.  Either way, I have 2 previous versions if it helps, and if you want them pm me your email and i'll send em to ya.
