Howdy All,
Well, I'm not sure where to begin.....there's so much to thank you all for.
As many of you are aware, over the past year plus, there has been a Team USA competing in International Competitions against other countries. During this time, the team has seen its share of victories as well as defeats. We've also had the honor of having some of the best pilots (including some of TX's finest!!) be a part of our ranks.
Early on, we could hold our own, but we found ourselves facing competitors who were defeating us with consistency.....two teams in particular. Not because they were better pilots, but because they were better TEAMS. As such, we made the commitment to persevere until the time was right that we too could achieve this level of competency for the USA.
As a part of our own commitment, we have been fortunate to have had the benefit of support, input, guidance, and experience from many different groups who have unselfishly been willing to help us achieve our goals. To this end, no other individual, team, or organization has contributed to this more than TX!!
As with any goal, planning and preparation is essential along with proper execution and we have all worked hard in this regard. One problem.......it takes others outside of the team willing to give you the opportunity to experiment and learn what works (and what doesn't) until they are what they need to be. This was the role that the TX squadron was willing to provide for us, especially over the past two weeks.
So, what did your efforts help us to accomplish?
We did it.......we finally BEAT the Germans this past weekend!! It was a long, tough match and they were a supurb, wiley, diciplined and calculating competitor. Our victory was no fluke......it happened as the result of commitment and hard work. It also happened, Gentlemen, because of YOUR help!!!
How do we begin to thank you for this? I don't really know. I humbly submit to you that this is not just our victory……..it is yours as well and we hope you will take pride in knowing that you were an integral part of it.
In closing, to me, TX has always represented the absolute BEST example of what the community should be. Your efforts to help us have once again demonstrated that you are truly a shining example of leadership in every regard. I am personally very proud and honored to know many of you and I always feel fortunate to be associated with you in any way.
May you all continue to enjoy the successes both as individuals and as a squadron that you so richly deserve.
Sincerely, Pepper C/O, TUSA
