Ordered the Game and the Official guide Yesterday. Game ships on 10/24, book shipped yesterday..I have it in my grubby little hands as I type. Basically, all I can say is it is an ENHANCED version of IL-2 with more planes, and better graphics. A HUGE step for MS over their previous products ! Now lets see how well it plays.

One thing I think is cool. You start out with an average ability plane. The longer you live the better selection of planes you can choose. This game is DEFINATELY biased towards the Allied side of things. If you choose to run a campaign from the Luftwaffe side, you had better have your act together to last very long. The plus side, the Luft side can acquire jets faster ( Me-262 ). Looks like a blast.

p.s. the Stategies and secrets book comes with a neato poster!
