...ok, thought I would upgrade off the AC97 onboard sound and free up some resources off the motherboard. Picked up a SoundBlaster Audigy2 platinum card. Had hell getting the drivers installed for some reason...but finally got it up and running. Only problem is that tonight I am hearing weird bird calls on comms and the worst thing is that I can't transmit. I pulled the Gamevoice box off and still no go. Checked the settings to make sure that I didn't have the mike muted(again) and still no go.....I can hear just fine as Ya'll are on comms....but the mike is not coming across. Ya'll were able to see that I was trying to transmit as I was getting the "we can't hear ya" so I know it might be that I have the mike plugged into the wrong slot.....

still no go so I am at a loss...

Did you disable the onboard sound in the bios?? Before you installed the new sound card?? Just a thought.White 6

also. . I heard your in game sounds being transmitted. . that suggests that the source is set to what you hear or WAVE, and not to a "line in".S!TX-EcoDragonBlack 1TX-Squadron XO

Don't fret, the Audigy 2 installation is the biggest bear that there is.Did the same thing over a year ago, EXACTLY the same thing.  Free up the system resources by disabling the AC97 and installing a SB2 Audigy. What I finally had to do to get XP to detect the card was move it around the PCI slots, until I could boot it up and it would detect the card properly.Anyway, this issues took me down for at least 4 or 5 days.Good luck.Black 2 TX Flight Leader"In a match, the pilot who kills only one enemy and lands safely is priceless beyond measure, while the pilot who kills two and dies once is almost worthless, as he has lost a plane, a pilot and forsaken his wingman"

....thanks for the input guys! I got P%^&$'ed and pulled everything off the card last night and just shut it off. i did remove the AC97 drivers as well as disable it in BIOS. I was able to hear Ya'll and at one time I was getting feedback from my speakers when I was transmitting. I'll fool with it some more tonight...thanks again....TX-CudaMinister of Information

...I just got in and am wondering Gunslinger if I ought to plug my headphones/mike into the front panel? Before I was able to utilize the Gamevoice box and just plug everything into the back panel of the box(off the MOBO) I selected 2.1 as far as the speaker system goes and put my glasses on to make sure I had the mike in the hole that has the mike next to it. As far as the card being detected on boot it seems to be there. I didn't want to buy a 7.1/THX speaker system if I didn't need it and thought I could get by with the old speakers/sub I had. I guess that I just need to figure out how in the heck to hook up my GameVoice box with the headphones/mike going thru it and then attached to the new card....Until then I can at least HEAR what is going on...and just won't be able to TX until I get this FoMo Shatticus figured out.........and BTW, I don't have much hair left up on top so I need to get this situation taken care of!TX-CudaMinister of Information

...IN TS test mode I see the light when I push the TX button...but no sound emits and I looked four times to make sure I had the input plug in the hole that has a "mike" next to it....Ya'll just YELL at me over the new and improved engine sounds I hear and I should be just fine!!!TX-CudaMinister of Information

Have you checked your input source?? That's your trouble as far as I can tell. . since I could hear what you were hearing when you transmitted.Since you are running a Creative Card you may have the Creative recorder included. . . go to start >all programs>Creative>Creative Recorder and in the "record from" drop down select Microphone. If you don't have that program you can get it from the creative site. Bet ya a dollar it worksThen try it again.S!TX-EcoDragonBlack 1TX-Squadron XO
