These videos are sourced from industry commercials, but the footage is great, check out Bob Hoover and the Art of Energy Management.


R.A. "Bob" Hoover is certainly one of the best pilots in history, and the last time I saw him fly he clearly hadn't missed a beat, despite this the FAA feels that someone of his age can not safely continue to perform. . . it's a real shame. Check out these clips of flying like you have never seen before. . . in a Shrike Comamnder (not aerobatic, in fact it's usually used for cargo and charter operations). . . sometimes as low as about 5 inches, and with much of the routine with both engines off!
