I was reading a BF2 tweak article and it mentioned two mod groups that have released products that "come highly recommended and transform BF2 into almost a completely new game from the ground up." After looking around at the screenshots on these sites, I have to say, they look pretty awesome. These packages are larger than what EA gives and look to be of similar or higher quality. Check them out!

yeah, and I was reading a forum dedicated to the Point of Existance mod and they were talking about the dramatic increase in realism that the mod adds to armor operations and weapons. They have also changed the game to eliminate the UAV, and the Arty requires a player in the field to spot. . .at first I thought this was lame until I thought about the way that gameplay will no longer revolve around running from the commander and simply outgunning another guy while the commander tells them all about what you are doing. . .the idea that we could actually stand a chance to sneak around the map, with a tactical objective vs. a simple gunfight standoff sort of thing sounds much cooler to me. Plus I like the idea of running around in the tall grass that they've made. . . in tru Emu style.S!TX-EcoDragonBlack 1TX-Squadron XO

Never tried Mods’ before but then I read this and had some high hopes for the Reality Mod, as I can’t stand some of the bugs and hacks in BF2.  But I was disappointed with it. On the other hand I was surprised with the POE mod. I played it for a couple of hours and played maybe 10 maps, all new.  Everything is a little different.  It has different weapons, aircraft, hellos, armor, AA, and of course, the maps.  The tanks can even select the type of round to fire – Sabot, Heat, HEP.  Nice mod worth trying, and it dosn't affect your orignial BF2. The Reality Mod has some new neat stuff and they tweaked some things but it plays so slow.  I guess reality means you have to wait longer after a death and between rounds, ahhh. I just couldn’t get past that, besides everyone was still bunny hopping anyway, I was hopping reality meant fixing that, but it don’t.Thanks Eco!STX_Chukar

Yeah, I'm still waiting to actually install POE. . .I started the DL before. . but one Gig was a little too big to want to wait it out. Maybe tonight. . .For now I've been having fun with the new stuff in special forces.S!TX-EcoDragonBlack 1TX-Squadron XO
