I just wanted to post a few pics of what Santa brought this year since I've been sooo good...  He brought me a 28inch Viewsonic LCD to replace my aging Dell 21inch CRT.  Notice it still has the plastic on it.  I thought it may have been too big at first and possibly may have brought it back.  I also ended up hooking it up via analog since going in via HDMI/Digital dropped the150 FPS flying at 1900x1200 vs. 20-35 FPS while connected digital.

So, it has a 3ms refresh rate, true 1080P, blah, blah, blah...  Look it up..  Viewsonic VX2835 Smiley

These are pics during a couple flights just goofing off (AP is on Cheesy)

Back with Flash

THE GF Mini Stack - I'll have to take a better pic during the daytime of this..lol

I'll soon be starting a 737 panel...I'll post pic of progress soon there too..

Lindle

A yolk? A yolk dude... you could fly a bomber in that rig. Seems like years ago Rah and I were talking about this home built cockpit. Initially he wanted a 109 panel. My thoughts at the time were not to go with the 109 panel and to go with something more versatile. Then he got the plans for it and made it and now look at it. Looks like you got a nice flitch on the plywood finish. I;m guessing it is not birch but I can;t tell the species from here (pine?). I really like the radio tuner - clicking on a knob is tedious when you are short on time. You've got the best pit in the squad maybe even in your entire state. Send the plans to Cuda so he can mod his with a BBQ smoker on it. Man that rocks!TX-Kingsnake

OK so, we recently got a 1080p 42" HDTV. . .since we are moving right now, I figured now was as good a time as I was going to get to try setting up the TV as my monitor. Since I didn't buy any dedicated DVI-HDMI cables, and am using the RGB component cables instead, it's running at 1080i.Sure it's absurdly large. . .but I couldn't resist. I've played a session of BF2 as well as some QMB sorties in IL-2 - and it's actually pretty darn fun!! The cockpit looks to be close to full scale - especially since I'm still sitting right next to it. Text quality isn't super - but it's passable for a gaming rig (not fun for reading the web for hours). Here's some quick pictures.

That was kinda fun - but not near as cool as it would be with three of them!!!

I've now finally retired my 21" Trinitron CRT to second monitor duty, and am running one of these: http://benchmarkreviews.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=84&Itemid=1
