For Chukar - please pardon my delay in providing the Mod install guidance - I was aiming for Sunday/Monday, but work this week has been horrific.

Additionally, I've been informed that AAA is going to release and "Single install package" soon, with all integrated.

As soon as that becomes available - I'll host it and post the link here at our squad site.

Until then - these links help walk you through the installs.

"Beginners Tutorial"

http://allaircraftarcade.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3335

"Alternate Beginners Tutorial" - covers issues that the tutorial above does'nt.

http://www.allaircraftarcade.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6632

Please read these closely.  I had wanted to post one just for us, with clearer instructions - but these at least will get you started.

Please let me know if you have any problems and I'll do my best to help....

Enjoy....

Gunny

Thanks Gunny,I have only installed the sound mod so far and I am having some trouble downloading the rest of the files.  While the first file download without problems the following files seemed to hang.   Don’t know if this is the server or maybe my ISP.   When attempting to download the files, the save download button is grayed out not letting me start the download.  Sometimes it takes a minute or two to become selectable and sometimes I just give up waiting.Anyway the engine sounds are great.  During a hard turn to foil a 109 I could hear the whistle of the GM50, sweeet. And let me know when that P-61 is ready, I gotta fly that one.

Great! My brother had the same problem with D/L - as you suspect it's ISP related and only temporary.  Try again - they should work.Do you have a 6 DOF TrackIR?S~GunnyBlack 2 TX Flight Leader

TrackIR 2.  Funny thing is that I have had it for years but only now have I got it to work.I haven’t had much time but I am still plugging away at those mods.  I am following your second link and have only gotten as far as step 7C.  Had to stop and fly a TBM and drop some torps, that was pretty groovy! Wow - you are well on your way.I just re-read through the processes - and am glad you chose number 2, the more I look at it.I notice that he does not provide "mod-switcher" details - if you plan to fly online - this is a must as most servers are 4.08 and some have CRT=2 enabled in which case the software won't allow you to fully connect -http://www.allaircraftarcade.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6249Install this mod in a location that you can get back to (not in your game directory - I put mine in C:/ ) After installation, open up the directory containing the switcher, in which you'll find executables for:Mods OFF 4.08 Mods OFF 4.09 Mods ON 4.08Mods ON 4.09Double click (start) the icon for the condition you want.  The executable will unzip files into your Il2-46 directory.  Select "yes" when prompted for any file overwrites.S~GunnyBlack 2 TX Flight Leader

Gunny, What can you tell us about the engine (or maybe) the cowling fins? If that's what they are.D. Terrell

Those cowling flaps, are prensented in the model render fully-open.  Just lke in IL2 the fully open position provides for maximum cooling - at maximum drag.As the cowling flaps are closed or retracted, less airflow passes the radial engine cylinders.S~GunnyBlack 2 TX Flight Leader
