I am currently on a couple of very popular websites that are all gaming oriented and on one of them they are getting pretty burned out with the COD4/5 game genre. I have mentioned to some of my fellow members via TS that IL2 has to be the best combat flight sim bar none that is set tin the WW2 Era. So here is what I need to gather asap....I need some of the the current websites that discuss the game...skins...etc...so that I can show these other players what IL2 has to offer. Sadly, most of the links I had are now dead as it has been so long since I have been active. I would especially like to have someone shoot me a link to a sight that hosts videos of gameplay showing these guys/gals what they have to look forward to.

Thanks in advance!

Hey Cuda,

I don’t know of any really good resource sites left.  The Air warfare site says it’s down for maintenance so maybe it will come return some day.  As far as movies your best bet is probably Youtube since most movie sites require downloading zip files vs. streaming.   There are hundreds there including most of the favorites with the exception the TX-Movie.

You might also try the Bomber night videos which are just edited game tracks but usually have the actual TS comms to go with them.  However the video playback on those are pretty jerky for some reason so be sure to also offer a movie of better quality.

As far as well-done sites with a plethora of downloads and information, Mission4today is probably the best: http://www.mission4today.com/

Another pretty good one (doesn't really address IL2 only but...) is flying-legends: http://www.flying-legends.net/
If you register and click the link "go to downloads section", they have some good stuff too.

You have to take some time to look through them as they have a good bit of information that you have to dig for, but other than being a bit cumbersome, they are really informative sites.

Hope these help.

P.S. - I have many, many IL2 movies I've saved over the years. If there's on in particular I may have it.

Yeah, those are probably the best - of course there is footage on youtube, but that's a crapshoot.

IL-2 certainly looks dated to most people who are FPS players, but there is so much more to a sim than eyecandy, IL-2 is still uncontested as the best WWII flight sim around IMHO.

P.S. TB, how is your computer??

Hey Ersk,

I liked that video but I am sure you realize that it is was nothing more than Blasphemous!   It caused quite a bit of trouble on the Ubi forums when it came out.  But then again you can watch something like this

and go huh?  P-51’s out turning 109’s, more Blasphemes.

If you're going to Daytona for BikeWeek, drop me a line. I live there.  Cool
