Ok, can anyone tell me what may be causing my pings to go from always around 38 to now erratic between 128 to 600.
For the past week in a half to 2 weeks, my ping has just been unforgiving.  And it is becoming very discouraging.

One thing is possible...If you are flying on TX-OC3 and I log into the machine via Pcanywhere, I'm sure things go south in a hurry.  This is such a rare event that I doubt it is causing anyone much grief.  Usually by the time I have a need to login, things are already botched up, so nobody should really notice.hmmmmmmmm,TX-Deck out.

Cage,I had that problem about a year ago with my cable service at my old place but only when connecting to certain servers. I used to play Tribes 2 then and the most popular server was located at Walden where I am now...it might imply that there was something wrong with Walden, but it happened to a couple of other servers I played on also. The common denominator seemed to be that a TimeWarner circuit was one of the hops from me to which ever server I was having that problem with. Unfortunately my ISP was no help at all, and the problem never really resolved itself but I ended up moving to the source anyway. Sorry to imply bad news but I don't have much faith in Houston ISPs. It seems to be famous between the hours of 3pm-12am.  This morning, I spent a couple hours in OC3, and maintained a 29 ping the whole time.  Hopefully it has worked itself out.Your right about the isp not being any help.  That is why I posted....they couldnt tell me jack.LOL, after the flood waters recieved these past couple weeks, it is a very tempting offer, moving to Walden.S~TX-CageBlack 5

500+ square feet for 800 a month and all the OC3 you can handle. I'd be willing to loan you a server rack, Deck's IL2 server, 2 of my compaq servers and all the encouragement you'd need to get the most out of your walden experience. I'm sure we could get the guys to chip in something each month for electricity and incidental costs. For sure I can contribute financially. Nudge nudgePS Walden parking lot gets deep sometimes, but the neighborhood didn't flood a bit even when we had that hundred year rain a couple years back. I lived two miles from walden and barely noticed the weather then. TX-Zen"Black 6"TX Squadron CO
