I'm currently working on a mission where the objective is not to shoot anything but instead to enjoy the well done representation of flight in these WWI aircraft while patrolling some lovely areas of the country, in search of short strips and fun places to operate in and out of. While the DVa and DVII are clearly the most suitable Bush Planes, it's hard not to love flying the N28 even though it's a bit tricky in the STOL Bush pilot sort of regime.

The day of flying begins after a pre-dawn breakfast at the lodge on the Lac des Vieilles Forges. . .after the pilots walk the meadow and verify that the impromptu runway is still in good enough shape to allow us to depart. . .

Be careful of the trees!

Gunny orbits while the rest of us get wheels up.

King, GOZR, and I start to taxi out for another bush flying sortie.

Gunny trying his hand at landing on this steep mountain face. . .

Well, it's a landing you can walk away from!

GOZR after trying to cut down a tree with his N.28.
