I seem to have the same problem as some others on the ROF forums were I can't get ME to run.  I don't think there is anything I can do about, possibly its and older hardware issue, seems to be the common denominator.  But I thought I would through it out as an FYI.

Have you:

a) installed ALL required components of the RoF installation (ie clicked yes to the DicrectX and MSVCB+, and .net stuff?)
b) deleted all .msnbin files from your missions and cooperative multiplay folders?

Here's details as posted by flif:

1. Main (source) file for mission is *.Mission file (and *.eng, *.rus ... - for localization). This file could be opened in Mission Editor even if mission format has been changed. ME parses it as a text, so if something is missing your mission is still readable. Please note that you should keep *.Mission files for futher use. Parsing a large mission is a very time consuming process

2. *.msnbin file is a binary version of your mission. It is created every time you save your mission in Editor. And Editor opens this file in case it is not older than *.Mission file (Editor saves text version file first). Binary missions can be opened fast but by the same version of writer/reader.

So if your mission can't be loaded as a binary (in editor or game) you could try to open it as a text in Editor (just delete *.msnbin file) and then save it to get new binary version.

If you have 100 missions  and need to reopen and resave all of them in a new binary format please don't loose your time doing it manually. In Mission Editor main menu select "Tools -> Convert missions to Binary in Folder" select folder with your missions and take a rest. All missions in this folder and its subfolders will be resaved. Note that it could take some time and Editor is not "responding" during this process. Also make sure that *.msnbin files don't have "Read Only" attribute set.

I have loaded all the required components and even upgraded nvidia drivers to 190.62.  I have reloaded several times and at no point were there any files, mission or other loaded in those directories.  The Mission Editor has never finished loading.  Always stops with an exception error, stating landscape.dll failed to load. I tried before updating and after, no difference.

I really think its graphics card related.   Looks like ME is tougher to run than the game itself, how weird is that.

So you have no missions installed??

Have you tried starting a campaign?

It does seem that there are some folks who have troubles with the 7 series nVidia cards. . .perhaps that's what this is.

If you would like to try with some missions in the folder:

ftp://69.56.198.2/ROF/RoF%20MP%20COOPs.rar

That seems logical to me - as the ME always loads the last mission it had in it.
