Heh - we'll I'll tell you the D/L part goes like this:

It's 3:44 PM - I started the D/L at 11:00 CST - 4 hours 44 minutes = 59.9%

So, after playing WOP for a little while and wanting to provide Gozr and other interested in it a little feedback, I stopped  flying WOP to reinstall Il2 for comparison.

My general impressions of WOP are somewhat negative at this point (with less than 1 hour of stick time).  So, before I post any more about WOP - I want to go back to Il2 for a few reasons:

1) I've been stuck in ROF for about 9 months - and clearly it's FM and basic flight environment is developmentally more advanced than Il2, so I need to re-tune.

2) I want to be fair

3) There's a lot of "stuff" in these Il2 add-ons and such.. It's possible that some of the FM's/Environmental effects are better..

As I prep'd a new installation of '46 - I went out in the forums to see how many '46 mod packages there are.  Lo and behold - the community has been busier than ever.  If one Unified Installer was not enough - Now I see three!

Of course, after reinstalling Il2-46, and making FOUR copies which will contain:

1. Official Il2-46 4.09, Oleg's version - the way he created it.

2. AAA Unified Installer 1.2

3. ULTRA PACK 2.0

4. Spare for fixing any of the first three installations - because, believe me - you don't ever frickin want to do this again from scratch

Yes, there is an official 4.09 patch - with great, Oleg quality, new aircraft and cockpits.  But, we need to leave that for later, because some of the mod packs require the official 4.08 version of Il2, as they are based upon the beta 4.09.  More on 4.09 later.  First we'll have to deal with the mods that only want 4.08.

I already have HSFX - which I'l install too - it's not like I don't have the disk space and I've already d/l it.

2.0 has HSFX in it already.

So if you don't have room for another Install then you can avoid it.

Possibly on testing tonight.

I can't stay up too late though, I'm taking the kid back to KC tomorrow.
