If I don't plan to go crossfire or SLI is there a reason why I shouldn't get the Evga X58 LE board??

Not really. It's still the socket 1366 X58 chipset. When I built mine, only the enthusiast versions were available and they all were SLI/CF.

I a strong proponent of using one single slot, single GPU video card. They're less power hungry, make less heat and, under most cases, are more driver-friendly that either SLI or GX2 cards.

p.s. Just make sure you get a good CPU cooler regardless.  Wink

That's why I was asking TB.  I believe this one will still do SLI/Crossfire but I don't want SLi or Crossfire.  From what I've read, multi GPU's actually slow performance in FSX.  Also a surprise was that a RAID0 will hinder performance.  So, a single ATi 5870 and separate SSD drives for OS and FSX/IL2/ROF/Games is where I'm heading...

I guess I just need to search the OC boards to make sure people have successfully OC'd the i7 920 with that mobo!!

Thanks for the reply!!

Since i'm basicaly the guy with teh most FPS around i can tell you that SLI not working with FSX is bollox..

I'm a SLI hard core.. Now make sure to read performance in Simulation for ATI and no games..

ATI is a pain to adjust right.
 No need for Raid anymore..

SO remember SLI that slow down FSX or ANY other Simulation is untrue !!

I run SLI for years and i have been in tripple digit for years but i don't want to brag since so many of you guys are proud of your 25  30 fps on a tough ATI's Wink

Get a board that overclock well but not extreme since you will never use those settings anyway.. EVGA are great and strong and with SLI possibility for upgrade, better to have the choice.
I like Nvidia due to their easiness to fiddleand with their profiles and compability with a lot of things

BTW DO NOT take a dual GPU card with only 512 mb on board each like the 295.. my advice is get the most Vram you can get , it's soooo important in flight sim and the resolution we are using this days on this mediocre LCD technology of our pathetic LCD's

So a card minimum with 1 GB on board .. my next one will have 2 GB for sure.. Flight sim are loaded and loaded with textures that crap your Vram so having more will free up a lot of performances and goodies..
