4.10 Official Patch Readme for Il2 - 35 PAGES!

Here's the longest list I've ever seen in a simulator update:  35 PAGES!

So folks, this release - which will change Il2 in the largest way ever - is almost upon us.

It's a new sim!  For all my Il2 friends - I'd strongly suggest you read this - too many pages to post.  The largest change we ever experienced in Il2 was from the horrid 3.04 to the great 4.0 series which incorporated major FM changes and Weapons changes.

Remember how all the Spitfire drivers squealed like little kids when their "airplane on rails" actually developed some character?

Here it comes again in spades

This 4.10 update makes that one look like childs play.

fuselage length in P-51 FM adjusted

Dam nothing on pulling fuel from center tank first.

disabled flaps on a slider for planes with up/down flaps only (slider still works, but only
as "two stage")

adjusted aircraft AI gunners accuracy and night behavior
Previously even rookie gunners were able to shoot very accurate short bursts to long
distances. Gunners now have now trouble seeing in dark but player can also reveal
himself to AI gunner by doing something stupid like turning on lights, opening fire or

presenting himself as a silhouette against the moon.

I like the sounds of that



minimap centering removed when icons are off
Previously first opening of minimap revealed players position even when icons were off.


Remember how we used to utilize that bug.

added two new transparent runway types

I've been requesting these for a long time. I hope it will let us spawn and taxi from anywhere sensible.


Oh and it is released now.

Brother TOAD!  THANKS!!!!!  I was busy fixing my son's PS3 (yechhh) and just checked the forums!  So glad you posted.

Also great to see the items you commented on - now Spitfire pilots won't be able to "Flapperize".

That list is soooo long, I missed the subleties you've pointed out.  I should have my Cougarhawg profile done for Il2 soon - so hopefully your server is still up so I can play!
