Deck and Rah,

(Any TX welcome to respond)

I'd like some input on whether we should release our base PSDs to the community. The forums have numerous requests for clean templates and I feel ours are of a high caliber suitable for any paintscheme...should we create an FTP site and share our work?

I feel it will be another big step in establishing TX as a strong force in the community.

I also have ideas for creating a PSD creation tutorial and possibly a dedicated server tutorial with instructions on scripting, map making etc. Both are ways to make an impact on the community, to help those groups needing a hand in establishing more 24/7 servers.

Comments?

I would agree that as a service to the IL-2/FB community this would be a great thing to do, however we dont really want to release them with any TX layers added, so would that add much workload to those who make the temps??BTW: it seems most people are just waiting for skin downloads for everything, if tehy had templates they might endeavor to start making their own, which could be cool.S!TX-EcoDragon

The TX related layers will be removed definately. I'm thinking that since we make some very tight PSDs, we can make them neutral and offer for distribution. I think they're the best thing on the net right now personally. Adding a tutorial explaining how to skin in general and including a readme file with graphics for each template (to show unusual layers that a would be skinner would need to watch out for, for example) would be far and above what I have seen out there. It would take extra time to create the readme file for each template but would only have to be done once for each. The elimination of TX specific layers is a very simple process due to the way PSDs work in the first place. This is not an extra demand placed on any of our skinners. If no one in TX feels like adding a few extra steps, no problem. I think it will be great for the community and make a big impact on our reputation...its just a nice thing to do for people.TX-ZenBlack 6TX Squadron CO

Seeing as I have yet to produce skin or template one for FB, I don't feel like I have any say in this matter.Knock yourself out!TX-Deck out.
