It NEVER fails.....

The  Asus A7N8X Deluxe just bit the dust. The BIOS crapped out. Seems that ASUS has known about this little problem all the while and had revamped the boards to 2 different Revisions since January. Mine is Rev 1.04 and they have a 1.06 and a brand new 2.0 being released as you read this.

Go over to nforcershq and read all the posts about the problems with this board..mine included.

It is a great board IF you happen to get one that wasn't in the crap runs that most of us seem to have gotten. The revs that are out are 1.03, 1.04, 1.6, and 2.0.

Going to Frys and checking on-line with googlegear  today to look for a rev 1.6 or preferably a 2.0 board. Will grab one and RMA the other one and pass it down to the kids when gotten back. Asus isn't fixing the boards..they are just swapping them out for the 1.6 and here shortly the 2.0.

Shows a lack of class in my book to put out a product..KNOW that there is some major problems with it and then just deal with customers one on one instead of doing a recall and fixing the things right.
If you have a 1.04 board..find SOME way to RMA it..even if it appears to be working ok at the moment...you will be glad you did later on down the line. If you are buying one of these boards..MAKE SURE that it is AT least a rev 1.06.

So, here shortly I will have a perfectly fine Soyo Dragon 333 lite board that I will be more than happy to send to a TX member that it will be an upgrade for. It works fine.

Some people call it bleeding edge technology BK lol. One thing is for sure, I thank you very much for going through all the teething troubles with new hardware, so that when I'm ready to buy something high end you've already solved the major issues.S!TX-ZenBlack 6TX Squadron CO

HmmmmmI'm definitely due for an upgrade...  check with me before you ditch it if you don't mind.  I'm not quite sure what my next move will be as far as procs and total specs, but that board might fit in to the plan somehow.TX-Deck out."I started out with nothing, and still have most of it left."

Well between Asus and Fry's I don't know who to be more pissed at... Cantacted Asus for RMA..they told me to return it to Frys for an exchange. I told them that the board is almost 2 months old now and that Frys only returns or exchanges for 1 month. The guy told me that they will still exchange it for another one that they have an agreement with Frys. Go to Frys and they tell me to RMA it back to Asus..they have no agreememnt with Asus.Contact Asus again and they tell me to go back and talk to the manager this time that he will know what to do. Yup..he knew exactly what to do..." Send it back to Asus !"... Today I will be bypassing the tech dept. and going straight for someone in management at ASUS ( ASSES ).Anyway..going to be down for a while. NOBODY except on line has the boards in stock and the on-line places don't know what revisions they have..They want me to just buy one and try my luck..I'll pass.....Have 2 much stuff for kids on their pc and they are using the crap out of theirs for school projects to justify me confiscating theirs again. Will just wait it out....Was just going to buy another one but decided against that till I find out if they have fixed the problems with the boards when mine comes back..Don't feel like shelling out another $160 to have 2 bad boards. Will still check in  from the kids pc to keep up and current....~S~BK

It just boggles the mind how after 3 days of online and telephone requests with techs at ASUS for an RMA number all I got was a run-a-round and within 30 seconds of talking to a supervisor I have one in my swetty little palms.....The Gent I got ahold of today said that they will ship me one back as soon as they have mine in their swetty little palms..they just swap out since they know that the problem was in the design. So should be back up within the next few days.~S~BKFlame Broilded...the way you like it....
