S~Well , since you posted it , I thought I'd post my two cents worth. Since I switched to a full CH pro set , I havent figured out how to map the GV trigger onto the new flightset at all. I had done this with the Saitek set ok , but since the switch havent been able to , and so ,even when comms work perfectly for me , I usually have a delay in responding to people . Almost always , of course , people will want a response when Im in the middle of maneuvering and cant let go of the HOTAS. This is annoying enough , as I usually would be a bunch more vocal. Lately though , it seems that comms have become choppy from my end , and Im sure sometimes Im missing some crucial input. Ive noticed on a few occasion as well that I am receiving all comms just fine , but no-one seems to copy me. When this occurs , Ill text it and people will usually call out to me and I copy fine and respond. Ill make another call to my isp and find out if theyve "balanced the line" yet or not.Another frustrating issue that I have to deal with that it seems most others do not. There probably isnt anything anyone here can do about it though.Just venting so all understand.Thanks...:-)S~Cya up there...TX-ShadowWhite 3

I'm not sure if this item was discussed but I have a GV issue that occurs probably 75% of the times I use it. It seems that over time the GV connection becomes degraded to the point of garbled transmissions or complete inablity to communicate. If I jump over to GV and exit and reenter the chat session, then switch back to the game all is again well with the world until the next 30 min or so have passed and the connection starts to degrad again.Anyone else experience this and if so any fixes?

Yea Okie,I think this is just simply a GV issue. I have the same issue sometimes , and I have noticed others needing to restart GV for similar reasons. I dont know if theres a fix for this though.Anybody ?S~Cya up there...TX-ShadowWhite 3

I have the same problem as Okie, the signal degrades after a while and all I hear is choppy voices. But that's not my biggest concern. The voice part doesn't seem to work, I run through all the GV tests. The ones that make you to read a paragraph and reread so you can hear your voice. All that is well and good, but you guys still can't hear what I say. Here at home, I have a DSL/ LAN. Of course there's a DSL modem and D-Link router. Could the problem be in the which ports need to be opened on the router? I know it's a simple fix, but I'm lost. Any thoughts?

No , I dont think thats whats happening , cause when you do the setup where you talk , its just looking to see if the computer recognizes the transmission , but its not.  I had the same problem when I first got mine and I remember messin with it quite a bit  before I got anyone to hear me either. Seems like the boom mic they give you with GV really kinda sucks , and I had to go to settings and increase the gain , by boosting , and it still hardly registered. I went to the store , bought a 20 dollar boom mic and it registered plenty of signal right off the bat. That seemed to solve the problem for me.I , of course , dont know if thats the issue youre having , but its a suggestion.S~Cya up there...TX-ShadowWhite 3

Don't know if it is a work around but if I start FB BEFORE I start GV I can hear but not transmit. I do get an error message however stating a resource is already in use but you may not be getting this message. You may try startup of GV and connect to chat prior to startup up FB.

Guys,             A lot of problems can be resolved by simply going this route.  Click on the start buttonNow click on runtype dxdiag in the line and hit enterNow click on the sound tab at the top of the pageSet the slider to "Basic Acceleration"Click OKThis will resolve most GV issues.  I can always set the server for more compression and see if that will help also.  Please try the other fix first...Hope this helps...B~TX-Rahman"BLUE 2"

Just curious, does everyone have in-game comms disabled?   I know that I almost overlooked this when I installed FB.   I just took it for granted that comms were disabled in IL2 a long long time ago.   Might double check that and make sure they are turned off.   I can't remember if they were off by default or not.$.02TX-Deck out.

Thanks guys, I'll give all these ideas a try. Hopefully they'll work tonight. If you see me on the server I can at least hear what you guys are saying.-TX-Bomblast-

This won't necessarily help GV issues directly, but you might look into TeamSpeak if the issues become too frustrating (or costly to resolve). It sets up similar to GV, with a dedicated server, and works with the GV hardware. It has a lot more functionality, and organization options than GV, and our squad has not had any issues with its use. Rather than listing all the features, just let me know if this becomes a possibility, and I will take anyone interested for a tour of the program as we use it in GR142.Good luck,GR142-Sammie

Hurray!!!!!!! I/we got GV to work. Took all the advice given, this is what I did. -Uninstalled: Roger Wilco, Battle Com-Turned Off the FB Voice Comms.-Ran "dxdiag" turned down the sound accel. to basic-restarted PC   After all that, GV worked like a charm, now I can communicate with the whole Squad. Thanks.TX-Bomblast

Glad to hear it/ya, Bomblast!Maybe there is still hope for my continued career in PC tech support.  Several of us from the squad have worked directly with each other on various real-life jobs in the past, and I can easily say that your in pretty good hands.S~TX-Deck out.

Bomblast , Great to hear it man!Unfortunately for me , I tried the dxdiag trick as well , but it didnt seem to do much. Last night when I was in , It seemed fine at first , but then after a little bit the sound got really bad,  to chopped to bits , and then unusable. Dont think I turned it all the way down to basic though , so Ill go back in there and try that to see how it works  out for tonight then.Dismiss this post , just another technical issue from the dreaded Shadow .:-)S~Cya up there...TX-ShadowWhite 3
