BK, I am with you man.  Comcast (AT&T) has cut me off for non payment.  This is the second time in a year and a half they have done this to me.  After two days of arguing I went down Saturday with bank statements in hand and showed them were the payments were made.  All they can say is that they never received those checks.

Last time I had to send photo copies of the checks in dispute to the billing department, then they did some research and found that someone left a digit off the account number when processing the check which placed the money into a bogus account.  What really ***** me off is that they know this happens and apparently don't research these bogus accounts until someone complains.

So I am off line for now, looking to see how fast I can get DSL from SBC installed compared to fighting with AT&T over this again.

Chukar....my winged, wingman buddy,                                                           I have AT&T for local and LD phone service....  I cannot tell you how often they have totally screwed my bill up.  I think their accounting department is a bunch of Chimps with calculators...  Sorry to hear they're "monkeying" around with your account now....SALUTE!!B~TX-Rahman"BLUE 2"

Strangely enough I have SBC for local phone, yet SBC says DSL is unavailable to my area while AT&T is available?  How can that be since AT&T would have to use SBC's copper to reach my home.  Anyway in a nutshell my choice is either fight the battle with the Cable modem through AT&T or install DSL through AT&T, hummm not good.  TX-ChukarBlue 1

1. At 8AM I called Adelphia and told them that the modem and my 2 Cable boxes are on my front porch, to come and pick them up and discontinue my service with them. The Rep wanted the whole drawn out story and I just gave her my ticket ( ts report ) number and said good-bye.2. At 8:22 AM I get a knock on my front door. Adelphia Tech here to TS my problem.3. At 8:40 he comes back to me and tells me that he found the problem. The underground connection box was flooded. Says that he will have me back up in good shape in 30 mins max.  He re-connects my modem and runs some tests and tells me my speeds are 2202/251. I run a speed test at dslreports.com and come back with 1888/233. Close enough.4. He reinstalls my cable boxes and leaves while I still have a smile on my face.5. At 11:50 I run a couple of more speed tests at dslreports. 354/76, 202/91,311/0 ( yup ..zero ).6. At 12:15 a supervisor from Adelphia calls me and asks if my problem was taken care of satisfactorally. I tell him the results of my latest speed tests. He gets me transfered up to Tier2 so they can run some tests. They get the same ballpark fugures 300/50. Tier 2 transfers me back to Supervisor. Supervisor comes back on line and says " I don't know what to tell you other than there must be a problem somewhere ".... LMMFFAO !!!!!!!!No S*H*I*T Sherlock ..do ya think ?~S~BK

Shadow slides a tall beer down the bar to Chukar at the pub. Chukar seems to be attempting to drown his sorrows about being grounded. He mutters something about at+t under his breath. Shadow attempts to cheer him up with a couple brews and a slap on the back telling him all about his woes with some cable company. BlackKnight, Chukar , and Shadow shut down the tiny pub drinking heavily and cussing about the woes of technology.grumble grumble....

They routed me a little differently today while they work on some " problems " in and around our complex. The speed are pretty damn good now. Bet they won't stay that way..but enjoying it while I can.Just finsished loading windows xp again for the 27th time in tha last month and 3/4. I really think that SATA is junk as it stands right now. Wen't back to straight IDE.~S~BK
