Just to let everyone know, I updated to the latest nVidia Drivers at the same time as I installed these dlls (bad way to test) BUT I have definitely noticed that I get better game performance now, not so much help in the way of game stutter, but my fps went up in most scenes, and I can now fly at higher graphics settings including the 1024 land and plane textures, and If I max the whole system out, graphics to perfect, etc, and using IL-2 manager which gives even higher settings, (all tests with Anisotropic filtering at 2X, and Anti-aliasing off, and resolution at 1280x968) I can replay tracks at 12 fps instead of 3 like I had before. It does appear that some image quality loss occurred with the perfect water settings. . but are any of us even able to run that high  now?? I think if you have a top end machine, maybe avoid these, but if you’re running an older vid card, these may let you see an improvement in quality and fps.

BUT DO NOT REPLACE ORIGINAL FILES UNLESS YOU ARE PREPARED TO REINSTALL FB IF IT’S NOT TO YOUR LIKING OR IF THERE ARE BUGS. I will restore original settings before the patch, and will also restore them once more just to get a solid performance comparison.

I made a backup folder, and simply replaced all the original folder contents with these. So far, I think they are worth a look for those more adventurous folks. These were posted by Skypat, the maker of the IL-2 Manager

Hey all. This really works. I had nothing to lose and could only get better as I am running on an older generic Nvidia 4 420 which is not even as good as the 4200. Before the patch I was running at 800 X 600 X 16 at medium settings throughout  also 8 channels on a new soundcard of which I have tried a total of three soundcards since FB. I put this patch on and when I went online was totally amaized. My video settings have been reset to 800 X 600 X 32 with the high settings on all areas as well as 16 channels on the sound card... Smooth frames and sound..Thanks Eco!!!!!S~TX-FlightRisk Black 3

FR, I bet you would see a greater improvement in the image quality if you turned off Antialiasing, lowered the ingame graphics settings to medium, turned off stencil buffer, set anisotropic filtering to 2X, and then raised resolution to 1024X-768.But thats just me  ;-)

I'm going to give this a shot.  It could be the ticket I'm looking for to extend the life of my current hardware!  Thanks Eco!TX-Deck out.
