Anyway. . .The hurri skins look awesome, great work! And the PBY is very nice to see. Speaking of the PBY, I have been speaking with Gibbage about resuming work on the PBY, which he had decided was never going to be made flyable. I had been posting about it in the UBI forums, and I discovered that Gibbage simply couldn’t get complete enough information on the aircraft to do any further work on it. I have access to the FAA Aircraft Registration database and I decided to locate all of the original, and flyable, Catalinas in either California or adjacent states. I told him that I would be happy to contact the aircraft owners, arrange a tour/flight for him (and me of course!), and fly him to the airport nearest the home base of the aircraft
so that he could ask anything he couldn’t find out elsewhere, and so that he could get all the photos he wants. Thus far I haven’t yet had time to coordinate it all yet, but I plan to in the upcoming weeks. Despite GIbbage's current workload he seems excited to resume the project, and surprised that the community is as interested as they apparently are.
