Hello guys.  I wonder if someone could help me with this problem.
No matter what I try I cannot get IL2 Sturmovik to connect to an internet server for multiplaying.  The game is patched to level 2.1 and i am not playing behind a firewall. I am using AOL 8.0 but have tried connecting with a different ISP and get the same result: "Connection attempt to remote host failed. Reason:timeout"

Would sure appreciate your comments on this as online playing is one of the main reasons I had for buying this game.

Look forward to your thoughts

One thing to check: in your Il2setup, go to the Network tab and make sure you have the proper connection checked. If you see some ip addresses at the bottom, select the last one as your connection. Do not use "default" as your connection. If that doesn't do it, try asking for help in the game lobby. People there should be able to walk you through it.TX-SeekerBlack 4

Thanks for the advice -TX-Seeker.  Unfortunately when I go into Network settings the only option I see is the type of connection, i.e 56K, Lan etc, and that is set correctly for the type of connection I am using.  Will try the game lobby for further adviceThanks

Might want to make sure you've enabled your firewall to let FB use the internet. I know on my Firewall, when a new program tries to connect to the net, i have to tell the Firewall its ok first.

It is IL2 not FB and I am using a 64K Isdn connection, although I have also tried a 56K connection with the same result.Funny thing is when I go into setup and make sure that IL2 is using the right connection type it often has reset itself.  Also the IP address always seem to reset itself to Default, no matter how many times I change it to external.
