Hi guys. I still check the TX site about once a week. You're all still family. :)Don't do much simming these days -- it's probably been 6 months since I played any game at all. I'm doing well, hope you all are too. Cheers!Seeker

Cuda, tell ya what. You should call Sam and tell her to come to Dallas and bring some fiber to my premises. You then don't have to worry about fishing and play PF all you want. Smiley

Hey guys!I've been in a similar boat as Eco for the past several days. This is one nasty little bugger for sure. I've managed to find and remove almost all of the files and get IE working normal only to have it replicate and start all over a few hours later. I've spent probably 15 hours trying to isolate this. Most of the files I found by doing a search for any files modified at the time of infection by searching for *.* and the specific day. I found several .dll that were installed. Also numerous registry changes found from using HiJackThis. You'll need to delete all temp files, prefetch,  IE cache and cookies, etc. from Documents and Settings/~local user/ and C:/windows/prefetch. Also, check MSCONFIG and stop the thing from running at startup.Well, actually,  it doesn't matter what you do because all of that only helped temporarily. I've run almost every spyware cleaner there is--removed it only to have it reappear.  Arrg. I'm at the point where I've backed up all my files and will be reinstalling windows. Right now, I'm using the Firefox browser which is actuall pretty darn good. It even imported all my IE bookmarks. I'd highly recommend using this browser, or another until this activeX thing is sorted. (These browsers do not use activeX so can't be infected.)http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/Cheers and keep safe. ;)Seeker

Hey guys. Thought some of you might be interested in this. I got tired of throwing a dart at the objects list in the FMB so...

I compiled a list of the OBJECTS in the FMB to use for easy reference when placing objects. I've thumbnailed and categorized the FMB Objects list into the following categories:

Airfield and Military
Fences, Posts and Statues
Government
Palaces and Churches
Vehicles and Trains
Summer Buildings
Winter Buildings
Industrial
Roads, Bridges and Land
Trees
Walls and Fortifications

Each category has a pic and corresponding OBJECT number as listed in the FMB.

I've uploaded two zips:
1. FMB Objects Thumbnail pics -- contains .jpg pics for each object in each category.
2. FMB Objects Viewer Printable -- these are Word documents for each category that you can print out. Objects are thumbnailed and numbered.

Enjoy!

Download here (cut and paste the full link to your browser):

ps..if you want to upload to your ftp, please feel free.

From what I understand, HL was being hacked by someone in South America. So, either Jiri or his ISP blocked access to everyone from there. It is nothing to do with predjudice, just a precautionary, and hopefully temporary security measure. There's no telling how long this will last. Let's hope not long. In the meantime, there are some good pilots on UBI who are willing to shoot you down whenever you want. :)S~Seeker

That looks like a fun map. I like sniping the sniper. On a side note, I tried the new headquarters objective maps today. It's a good idea, but it just breaks down into a team deathmatch like the others. Nobody cares about the objectives. Oh well.Oh...hi everyone!Seeker

That's some excellent work there. Very very cool!I love the way this game is progressing in the mp arena. Plus the upcoming patch will give another game mode. Smiley))

Back to the fps thingy...I saw a mod that will bind it to the [] keys for you. Small file here bellow; follow the readme if you want to try it.S~Seekedit: it doesn't appear to work for me in mp. Sad

I'm not sure, but does it read the servers via Gamespy? I've seen the same hosts when connecting either to Gamespy or through the game itself. Do you have it installed?
14  IL2 Community / IL2 General Chat / Re: Best overall plane in the game on: December 31, 2003, 02:28:13 pm
I'd go with the Il2-3 or Il2 field-mod. It's smaller cannons seem more effective in air-to-air due to less recoil and slightly faster rate of fire, while still powerful enough to take out ground targets. Though outclassed taking on a large group of fighters, it can handle a few at a time relatively easily. It's mudmoving capacity is second to none.

The only way I've seen is to modify the config or config_mp file in the /main folder. Look for seta cg_drawFPS "0" and change it to a "1".I tried to add a bind key for it, but didn't work. Not sure if there's a console command.
