Well..................... my aviation history has alot of un official parts to it : )My former step father was an aviation nut and thats how I got into it in fact I would say thats what actually got me out of it too..... I was working on my Private license and did alot of flying in higher performance aircraft He owned an Aerospatiale Raleigh which was a Cool AC to fly it had leading edge slats like the 109 and was highly maneuverable and had low stall speed too he also owned a Yak52 which is a very cool AirplaneI've only done your basic Aerobatic package Immelmans Hammerheads Split S Chandelles BUT I knew right away that Cessnas and Pipers would never ever again satisfy me whatsoever Now that im an adult (snicker) and have a career (big snicker) I plan on finishing my license getting my instrument rating and going on for some aerobatic ratings then buying myself a Pitts Special. Also considering a trip down to florida to fly the P51D, but thats a hard sell to the wife hehe but on the other hand its something that i've been wanting to do all my life. Also considered buying a Slower aerobatic rated AC like the one I mentioned in the previous post something about STOL AC that's very pleasurable too, but I suppose I have quite awhile to think about it.

HMMMM! now the instruments would be a bear to do, the cockpit however would not be hard to do at all, ok wouldnt be easy either, but theres a few things you can look into to make it even better. about 7 years ago we lost a plane to a fire in our barn it was an Avid Aerobat homebuilt that was about 85% complete, now that im so deeply involved in flight sims I WISH I would have saved the front half of the airframe to build a SimPit. Check around your local airports and ask about scrap airframes etc etc they will think your insane im sure : ) but I've seen old junk AC at one of the local Airports before and it never hurts to ask. If you have a decent garage and some tools (metal working) you could cut hack and grind your way to a nice foundation for a Sim pit, NOW, if you would want to get really nuts with this you could probably obtain some of those hydraulics all the young kids use on their cars, grab a PLC control system and have a Simpit that moved as per X Y Z axis inputs : ) now that would be fun eh? I sure wouldnt wanna pay for any PLC control system though : P I do not have a Digital camera at the moment but one thing I did was build a pedestal for my Joystick so the Stick sits right between my legs I then attached a Board to my chair and the throttle attaches to it, so I have a nice natural center stick mount and left handed throttle. I have some plans on building Prop Pitch throttle combo in the near future, and will post it herealso advise that you guys (if you dont already) buy the TrackIR system it's outstanding for IL2 especially if you build yourself an active IR emitter(thats another story : P ) all

I'll have to try this server, sounds like a good one.Wish my local telephone company wasnt so harsh on T1'sI would love to build a server for IL2 myself, but a T1 was 1000 per month last time I checked : ( OC3 would be insane priceI assume TX's server is run from a buisness? or school? Im on DSL in Ohio, and I ping 70's to TX all the time which is soooooonice to have in IL2. I hope I can get a nice ping to this Greater Green servertoo

I've been involved with WarbirdsIII for a year now and I see this same type of thing on the BBS over there 90% doesn't even warrant replies. Ive seen alot of complaints on Flight Models some warranted, some not,but no matter what the argument of the week may be I do know that IL2 is about the closest thing to real flight that I've ever experienced on a computerand im grateful that we have such a highly detailed WWII sim to fly : )seems like Mr. Maddox really cares for historic authenticity, or as close as he can get to it, and that I appreciate. People are too damn quick to pick apart things like IL2. No nothings perfect but IL2 sure is a sweet Sim to fly,and half the people complaining probably never plopped their butts into a cockpit of any kind : ) as you TX guys well know Situational Awareness and discipline that equates to ones successes in the air it isnt always the superior ACM performance that wins the battle. Erich Hartmann made a statement in the book 'Blond Knight of Germany' : "Probably 80% of my victorie's my opponent never knew I was there until I was already firing" coming from a man of his caliber pretty much makes this a fact and not just another theory, and the leading russian Ace of that time had a strangely similar approach to his style. I guess what im trying to say is that half the people that complain usually get themselves into a bad situation, and when the Aircraft doesnt pull them out of it it becomes a porked flight model,or the other guys is a cheater Sorry I rambled on so much! S~

I noticed yesterday that Icons were on which isn't big deal to me, but the one and only thing I reall dislike about icons is when I try to make a IL2 or Stuka run it seems nearly impossible to "Sneak" around anywhere. It would be a great feature to be able to disable Icons for gound attack specific aircraft such as the JU87 and IL2S~

OK this probably should be in troubleshooting, but I thought I might find a solution faster here. When I try to login I get file size error on the mission saya Mission loading error index 363 size 363. im baffled at why this is happening. This isnt because of the 1.2 VO patch versus regular 1.2 version is it? Im running 1.2 not 1.2 VO. thanks for any help.
