OK. I have to go back out of town. I'll be back on Thursday night. You Gentlemen decide who gets it. I'll send it on Friday to whoever and then that person can send me a check for whatever the shipping ended up costing.Cage ... end ...

Howdy TX, We've been really busy over the last year. It's paid off really well. The wife has now recieved another promotion with her company. So, we are moving again. This time we are leaving the borders of Texas to Michigan. It's not exactly Seattle yet, but Seattle is the next step after this. We leave in 2 weeks.
Now about my Cougar. I'm not going to put any more money into it. One of the axis is out. When you pull back on the stick it doesn't respond. The other 3 directions work, all the buttons on the stick work and the throttle is fully functional. If someone from TX wants it, I can send it to you for the cost of shipping from Wichita Falls to where ever. I would send it at my cost and no cost to the TX'er who wants it, but the wife is head strong that I don't pay shipping. Women! I've already packed the software and books for it, so I could send those at my cost whenever we arrive in Michigan. I figure the ones who may be more interested may be the ones needing spare parts anyway. If nobody is interested, I'm placing her in the dumpster (the Cougar, not the wife).
When we get settled in. I'm going to go with a CH setup.
Cage ... end ...

Eco,Thx for the links/tips.BTW, which logbook do you think is the best? I had a ASA standard Pilot Logbook in Houston (which is at my mothers house...shame on me). I purchased the Flywrite Systems Pilot Logbook & Journal, but it doesn't appear that it will be here by Saturday, so I will have to either get one at the FBO or overnight one.Cuda,Thanks for the words.I too hope things are well with you and your son.I stop in to the TX site when I get a chance. I am not able to get much sim flight time in these days. The family is doing well. Wife is working hard and the kids are growing faster than I care to admit...means I am getting older myself. And oh aren't little girls so much work? Just like Mommy, they require quite a bit of attention and maintenance.ATM Saturdays and Sundays are my only free time, and we've been going on family trips on those days. Starting this weekend I will be spending those days in a Piper Warrior for flight instruction and flight time. I am looking forward to getting some time in a low wing Piper vs. the high wing cessna I used in Houston...only got a couple hours in before the move though.Cage ... end ...

Real World Aviation / Real world aviation / Online Pilot Supply?

Where do you chaps prefer to get your online pilot supplies from? I ordered some things from http://www.mypilotstore.com on 05JAN10. My account on their site says it shipped UPS ground on 05JAN21 which means it should have arrived on 05JAN26. On 05JAN31 I called the pilot store to get a tracking number which was emailed to me the next day. After some phone calls to My Pilot Store and UPS, it appears that on 05JAN31 it was tracked down to be shipped to another person with the same name as me in Delaware (I'm still in Texas BTW). Now it gets a bit confusing. It is now a 2-day Air return (with the tracking number that was emailed to me on 05FEB01, and the UPS driver has 5 days to pick it up (with 3 attemps) which sucks for me since I needed this stuff by 05FEB05. On top, UPS seems unsure whether it is a pick up or drop off even after explaining the situation to them. They want me to create a new label, (since it shows a return to me) claiming that I am the shipper, yet I have never seen/touched the package. Basically, I have a $100 package (paid for by me of course) sitting at somebody's house that may never reach me, while both companies blame each other for the mishap. Needless to say, I'm in search of a great standing online Pilot supply. Cage ... end ...

Great information on the Headsets Eco. Thanks. I've been having a tough time trying to choose one. I've been lucky so far, in past training, that the school had an extra set I could use. Not the case at the new school. I have to furnish my own. It has been one of the reasons for me not getting back up in the air. Well, now things are sorting out and I'll be back on my way.The flight training that I started when I was still in Houston used ASA (Aviation Supplies & Academics). That syllabus states "meets 14 CFR Part 141 and Part 61 Requirments". Wonder if that is why they chose that particular brand?I just got back from the new school last night, and I forgot to look at which brand they are using. I'm looking forward to getting back to it that is for sure. And with the current renovations going on at this airpark, I'm looking forward to takeoffs and landings on taxiway B. Should be interesting....Atleast I have plenty of practice using taxiways as runways in IL-2...heheCage ... end ...

Chance-Vought F4U Corsair (wouldn't do this one if I didn't just love this bird, because there are alot already flying...like the P-47 & P-51)4. Douglas SBD DauntlessI'd also very much like to build a F-14 Tomcat and a AV-8 Harrier II.TX-Cage Black 5 ... end ...
